 IKKiCON IV was an amazing experience for me. When I started 2009, I didn't know I would end it being the Co-Vice Chairman of an awesome anime convention! In some ways, it was a crash course in running an anime convention, because this was my first time doing so. (I come from a background of sci-fi and gaming conventions.) In other ways, it was an effortless transition, because everyone instantly and warmly welcomed me into this amazing family. Regardless, IKKiCON IV will be a cherished memory I keep close for a very long time.I want to thank everyone for making this convention such a success. Volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly to take care of every little detail, attendees who seemed to always be in the best of spirits, as well as game for anything (i.e. when I ran around at 8AM finding people to be on the news!), guests (industry, cosplay, musicians, artists) who were charming, entertaining and completely down-to-earth, exhibitors who continue to amaze me by their stamina alone! Running a booth at a convention can be so tiring, but all of our exhibitors (dealers and artists) seemed to smile all the way through the convention! So, who is ready for IKKiCON 5? We're working on our new mascot and getting ready for a completely new website, as well. It's a brand new year, folks! We're ready to change things up a bit and get everyone excited for IKKiCON 5. Keep sending us your comments, constructive criticism and accolades. You're all helping us make IKKiCON 5 even more amazing than IKKiCON IV. See you at our New Year's Eve party! | What a great New Year! It was a pleasure seeing all the new faces, as well as everyone returning from previous years! Thank you to all our guests, artist, dealers, volunteers, staff and everyone involved for all your support. Now that year 4 is over, we are already gearing up for IKKiCON[5] returning to the HILTON, AUSTIN December 31st, 2010 – January 2nd, 2011. New site layout and content coming soon! | Austin Downtown Street Closures Dec 31st | Beth 12/30/2009 | [Ikkicon 4] |
| Beginning at 8AM on Thursday there will be street closures for the First Night Festival that will affect routes you may want to take to get to the IKKiCON hotel. In particular, Cesar Chavez will be closed the entire day. At 5PM additional streets will be closed for the First Night Parade. Most importantly this includes a portions of 5th St and Congress. After 5 PM you'll probably want to take Enfield/15th past Congress if coming from the west.
